The Employment Transition Center, a community resource not affiliated with Kenwood, is now open to assist displaced workers from eight localities-Richmond, Chesterfield, Goochland, Henrico, Hanover, New Kent and Powhatan. The center is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 4060 Innslake Drive in the former Innsbrook Public Library. The center is an initiative of the Capital Region Workforce Partnership formed last fall through the merger of organizations in Richmond and the seven counties.
In addition to seven paid employees, the center will be staffed by professionals assigned by participating localities, mental health agencies and nonprofit organizations. Services include assistance in seeking employment, retraining, credit and housing counseling, as well as assistance with food, energy and mental health. For more information contact 804-273-6260.
