May 9, 2012

We hope you’ll share with everyone you know that Kenwood is heading to Nuevo Mexico Restaurante! This is a great opportunity for you to show your support by eating great food, while at the same time helping generate funds for a great cause.  Nuevo Mexico Restaurante has arranged to contribute 15% of all proceeds for lunch and dinner from their sales back to Kenwood.  This money will be used for Kenwood’s Hinton Mission Trip.   Just pick up a flyer in the sanctuary foyer and bring it to either location (Staples Mill or Stony Point).  Mark your calendars: our date is Thursday, May 31! We hope to see you (and everyone you know) there!

Holy Week at Kenwood

March 27, 2012

Join us for worship during Holy Week, April 1-8, as we remember the sacred events of the last week of Christ’s earthly life.

On Palm Sunday, April 1, at 10:00 am, we will remember  Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem when he was hailed as an earthly king, a title he rejected.

On Thursday evening, April 5, at 7:00 pm, we will share in a special service for Maundy Thursday, remembering Jesus’ last meal with his disciples and his betrayal in the Garden of Gethsemane.

For Good Friday, April 6, the sanctuary will be open for prayer (10:00 am – 12:00 pm, 2:00 – 4:00 pm & 6:00 – 8:00 pm) as you prepare your hearts and minds for the joyous Easter message.

And on Easter Sunday, April 8, we will share in Sunrise Worship at the Kenwood Cemetery at 7:00 am, with breakfast provided at 9:00 am, worship at 10:00 am and then an Easter Egg Hunt for children at 11:00 am.

Good Friday Prayers

March 27, 2012

“He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)

Kenwood’s Sanctuary will be open for prayer on Good Friday, April 6, between the hours of 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, 2:00 – 4:00 pm and  6:00 – 8:00 pm. We welcome you, the members and friends of the congregation, to come and go as you feel led during those hours.  We hope that this time of prayer and reflection will be a blessing for you and that it will help prepare your hearts and minds to receive the good news of the resurrection.  If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Josie Nicholls (752-6364).
