50 Days of Prayer

March 8, 2012

The United Methodist General Conference (Pastor Beth is an alternate to it) which meets in late April is asking for prayers during this important time.  A link to an online program called 50 Days of Prayer is below. We encourage you to participate in this opportunity to support our Conference with prayers asking God to bless those who participate and the decisions they will be making. It offers a daily scripture to read and ponder.   Please consider making this a part of your daily prayer time.

From the General Conference: “We want God to lead and shape the future of The United Methodist Church. This guide will allow us to actively support the spiritual preparation needed before the General Conference and intercede faithfully during the ten days of the Conference. The kingdom of God comes through prayer and discernment. Through use of this resource, we unite in prayer for God’s will to be done in God’s way and in God’s time.”

How is Your Blood Pressure?

February 2, 2012

1 in 3 Americans has high blood pressure. Left untreated, it can lead to other serious health problems. Most of the time, high blood pressure is “silent”—which means you may feel no symptoms. That’s why people can have high blood pressure and not even know it.  The first step is to find out if you have high blood pressure.  Our Parish Nurse, Barbara Huster, R.N., will be taking blood pressure readings this Sunday, February 5, after worship in the Fellowship Hall.  There is no cost and no registration is needed.
