Higher Ground is open to all Middle and High School students at Kenwood UMC. This year, Higher Ground will focus on Community Service. We have partnered with the Richmond Ronald McDonald House Charities and plan to cook a meal once a month. Every so often we will participate in a James River Clean Up through the James River Association. The following dates have been confirmed as needs for the Ronald McDonald House:

Sun. Oct. 15 (leave Kenwood 7:30 a.m.)
8:00 a.m.- 9:30 a.m.–Cook breakfast
Sun. Nov. 5 (leave Kenwood 7:30 a.m.)
8:00 a.m.- 9:30 a.m.–Cook breakfast
Sat. Dec. 16 (leave Kenwood 4:00 p.m.)
4:30 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.–Cook dinner

Sun. March 25 (leave Kenwood 4:00 p.m.)

Please RSVP to the office at 798-7444 at least one week prior to the event, for more details, or with any questions. There is a maximum number of volunteers we are able to accommodate in the Ronald McDonald House kitchen, so we are only able to offer these community service experiences to the teens, not entire families. Scott and Kristie should be able to provide transportation to all teens volunteering. We are looking forward to working with our youth as we Love, Learn & Serve.
