I was raised in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania. My family went faithfully to the Mt. Pleasant Church of God. As I was growing up, I took piano lessons, sang in the choir, served as a church camp counselor, volunteered in the nursery and children’s church, served as an officer in the youth group, and did just about anything at church they would let me do.

After graduation, I went to West Virginia University and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education. I worked in public schools for a couple of years and then returned to West Virginia University to earn a Master of Music in Choral Conducting.  Following my graduate degree, I took a job in Georgia at Andrew College as Director of Choral Activities.

I moved to suburban Atlanta and served 2 different United Methodist Churches as a full time Music Minister. During these years, my two children, Ethan and Hannah, were born. We moved briefly back to Pennsylvania to be near family.

In 2013, I was hired as the Director of Children’s Ministries at Woodlake UMC in Chesterfield, VA. I served there for 9 years. During that time, I also felt called to begin to follow God’s calling to be a pastor. I went to Union Presbyterian Seminary and graduated in 2022 with my Master of Divinity.

I have been serving at Kenwood UMC since August 2022. It is an honor and a joy to be the pastor here. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the YMCA to exercise, watching movies, musical theater, driving my teenagers around, and listening to audiobooks and podcasts.

I was born and raised in Bon Air, Virginia, and grew up in Forest Hill Presbyterian Church.
For my musical start, I took piano lessons starting at 6 years old. I was introduced to the pipe organ in
our church around 10 years old and I would play the chimes on Sunday mornings to open our worship
services.

I graduated from Monacan High School and then attended VCU and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community
College. I double majored in Music and Business and graduated in 1995 from VCU.
My husband and I have been married for 26 years and we have a 10-year-old daughter. We live in
Chesterfield County and have 5 cats.

I have been the part-time music director/organist at Kenwood United Methodist Church for 26 years. I
also have a full-time job as an administrative assistant for Missions at Third Church and have been
employed there for 24 years.

Some of my hobbies are reading, watching movies with my family, and going to see Keith Urban in
concert with my friends.
