Serve

and work with organizations such as Moments of Hope, Rise Against Hunger and ACES (Ashland Christian Emergency Services).  Serving our Community through community outreach missions is a vital part of the United Methodist Church’s beliefs.  We are blessed to have a congregation with hearts full of love, eager to serve those less fortunate.

We support Elmont Elementary School by donating school supplies and other items needed, throughout the year.  We also donate to their ‘helping families’ program utilizing our own “Alice’s Food Pantry” program. This program receives donations of food and money in which to feed and support a designated family throughout the year. This includes holiday giving and thanksgiving. Throughout the year, our Church family embraces those in need in a variety of ways. We help out other community missions such as: Moments of Hope, which has a food pantry and offers other services, ACES (Ashland Community Emergency Services), by donating food or clothing or assisting people in other ways, and Rise Against Hunger, through raising money to donate to their food program.  Our congregation also supports our senior citizens living at The Hermitage Richmond through gifts, monetary donations, and in-person volunteering.

Sharing Christ’s ministry and His love doesn’t stop within our community.  Our members work through world missions such as UMCOR, helping those stricken with natural disasters.  We also participate in other world missions organized by the United Methodist Church.  At Kenwood, we definitely embrace our vision statement: “Led by faith, to love, learn, and serve.”

Please consider completing our Estimated Giving Document or making a donation in support of our church and missions.

  • MORE ON ALICE’S FOOD PANTRY: Thanks to your generosity, we now have a surplus of food to help serve our community. Thank you to all who donated or volunteered for your ongoing support of this ministry. If you or anyone you know may be interested in receiving food, please inform them of our cause. All food donations are welcome and can be dropped off at the church in the black bin by the door. However, if you would prefer donating to the fund itself, please write a check to Kenwood with “Alice’s Food Pantry” as the memo. We are now using those funds to have a weekly shopper purchase perishable items for the family of seven.
    • Food Distribution is from 10am – 12pm every Saturday at the Kenwood Church parking lot.
    • There is no need to call ahead and we welcome everyone with open arms.
